Available courses

This course provides a foundational understanding of the building and construction industry, including the key principles, processes, and materials involved in the erection and maintenance of buildings and other structures. It introduces students to the roles of various construction professionals, site organization, construction tools and equipment, and basic building methods from substructure to superstructure.

Emphasis is placed on construction terminology, site safety, interpretation of building drawings, and understanding the sequence of operations in typical building projects. The course also covers building regulations, quality control, and environmental considerations in construction.

Surveying and Leveling is a fundamental course that introduces students to the principles, instruments, and techniques used to measure and map land features accurately. The course emphasizes practical methods for collecting, analyzing, and recording field data to support civil engineering, construction, and architectural projects.

Students will learn how to conduct various types of surveys (chain, compass, plane table, and leveling), use instruments like theodolites, dumpy levels, and total stations, and produce survey drawings. The course also covers basic error theory, field procedures, and the preparation of contour maps and cross-sections.

The General Building and Construction (GBC) course introduces students to the core principles, techniques, and practices involved in the construction of buildings and related structures. It is designed to provide a broad foundation in construction processes, site preparation, building elements, materials, and safety standards.

Students will explore both traditional and modern construction methods, gain hands-on knowledge of tools and equipment, and learn to interpret basic building drawings and specifications. The course also emphasizes the importance of regulatory compliance, quality control, and sustainable building practices in the construction industry.
